Website and mobile app accessibility

We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 Level AA as our website and mobile app accessibility standard. The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines are created by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), who are the international body responsible for web and accessibility standards. Because the Kmart website and mobile app is in constant development, some areas may not consistently reflect adherence to this standard.

In-store: Click & Collect

Our Click & Collect service helps customers save time by shopping online. In the Kmart checkout select ‘Click & Collect’ and choose the store you would like to collect from. You will then be able to pick up your order from your closest Kmart store at a time that suits you.

In-store: Quiet space shopping period

We have introduced a designated “Quiet Space” shopping period to assist shoppers with sensory needs. This will be a a low-sensory shopping experience with reduced noise, lighting changes and adjustments to other sensory features. A select number of Kmart stores will be providing this experience, with then intention of empowering those who may be prone to overstimulation.

During Kmart’s Quiet Space shopping periods:

  • Store lighting will be dimmed

  • Kmart radio will be turned down

  • Register and scanner volumes will be reduced to the lowest level

  • Trolley collections will be limited

  • There will be minimal cages on the shop floor

  • No PA announcements will be made, unless there is an emergency

  • More team members will be available to support customers

In-store: Assistance animals allowed

Assistance animals, whether they be a service or support animal, are allowed in Kmart store. We kindly ask that they be on a lead or controlled, to avoid hazard and risk to others.
