Gender balance

By December 2030 Kmart is committed to achieving 40:40:20 gender balance (40% women, 40% men and 20% either gender or gender diverse) in leadership roles* across all Kmart business functions.

Kmart are focused on fostering an inclusive culture for all of our team members. This includes promoting awareness and understanding of the importance of gender balance and inclusion.

Our Progress

Women currently represent 43% of leadership roles across Kmart Australia, New Zealand and Asia. 40% of business functions fall within the 40:40:20 gender balance range.

Kmart have introduced a range of initiatives to support gender balance in leadership roles, including:

  • Paid Parental Leave which offers primary carers 12 weeks paid parental leave and secondary carers 2 weeks paid parental leave, regardless of gender.

  • The introduction of Flex Where, Flex When, Flex Well which offers our National Office team members access to a range of flexible working options.

  • In 2020, Kmart received endorsement from Work180 as an Employer of Choice for women.

Our initiatives aim to support all team members by enabling them to balance their career journeys with what’s important to them.
